If one day a hair falls out, it’s not the end of the world, but it does become more and more annoying when hair starts falling out and you leave a trace of hair wherever you go. Team SweetBunny gathered 10 useful tips for you to prevent hair loss. You’re welcome!
What causes hair loss?
Hair loss can be caused by several factors. Think of cigarette smoking or too much stress. However, these are far from the only reasons for hair loss. There are many more. You should also look realistically at your hair loss. Take into account that, on average, a person loses about 50 to 100 hairs a day. This sounds like a lot, but when you take into account that a person has on average 100.000 hairs on their head, losing 50 to 100 hairs a day doesn’t sound that bad after all. When you suddenly experience more hair loss, it will certainly become noticeable. You will notice that your hair is limp and lifeless and it becomes thinner. Sometimes you even have to deal with bald spots. Often this only happens over a period of time and it will go away on its own, but there are things you can do to give your body a helping hand in strengthening your hair. We’ll discuss ten tips you can use to improve the strength of your hair.

Want to know more about each tip? Let's dive in!
Tip #1. Drink enough water
Drink enough water, and by this we don't mean two glasses a day. You need a minimum of eight glasses a day. Eight?! Yes, you do. Your hair needs at least 2 Liters of water a day to strengthen and to grow. So try to aim for at least eight glasses of water, 2 Liters, a day.
Tip #2. Make sure you get enough exercise
Not everyone will be happy with this tip, but it is so important that you exercise enough. And let's be honest; it can be pretty fun too! The more you move, the better your blood circulation is. Good blood circulation is very important when you suffer from hair loss. A good blood circulation is necessary for your scalp, so that it can ensure that your hair stays healthy and strong.
Tip #3. Invest in a good brush
Brushes may all look the same, but they are definitely not. You need to choose a brush that fits your hair type. Aren't you using the correct brush? Then it can damage your hair. First of all, it’s recommended to avoid plastic, non-flexible brushes. These make your hair static, which increases the risk of damaging your hair. Metal brushes are also not recommended. Metal pins are way too coarse for your hair and scalp. Instead, go for a brush with real hair or an ultra flexible brush, like our Eco Detangle Brush. This way you won't scour your scalp and damage hair follicles. Our brush adapts to your head shape and massages your scalp - you’ll never want something else. While enjoying the massage of your scalp, your blood flow will improve and in a while, your hair volume will increase.
Tip #4. Brush your hair when it is dry
Try to brush your hair when it is completely dry. When your hair is wet, the cuticles are still open. If you brush your hair while it’s still wet, it can break down. When your hair is dry, the cuticles are closed and your hair is less vulnerable. You can then brush your hair without any problems.
Tip #5. Purchase a shampoo and conditioner with caffeine
Shampoos and conditioners with caffeine make the hair roots last longer, which reduces hair loss. You will have to wash your hair with a caffeine shampoo and conditioner regularly, otherwise it won't work.
Tip #6. Prevent or intervene with an iron deficiency
An iron deficiency not only causes fatigue, it can also lead to hair loss. Your hair needs enough nutrients to stay healthy. Iron is implemented in (red) meat, fish and liver, but an even better way to get your daily dose of iron, is to take hair vitamins. Besides this, keep in mind that you have less iron in your blood when you’re on your period. During your menstruation you lose iron, so your hair can be a bit more dull than normal. This is not an immediate indication of an iron deficiency.
Tip #7. Do not overdose on Vitamin A
Vitamins are good for your body, but as with almost everything, too much is never good. An overdose of Vitamin A, for example, can have negative consequences. You may experience a dry mouth, headaches, muscle aches, nausea, flaky skin and, yes; hair loss. By taking Sweet Bunny hair vitamin gummies, you get the perfect daily amount of Vitamin A that your hair needs.
Tip #8. Take extra Vitamin B
Vitamin B is incredibly good for your hair. It ensures that hair grows well and that it recovers when it is damaged. It also prevents hair from becoming brittle. Vitamin B is mainly found in meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, bread, potatoes, eggs, nuts, milk and grain products. So they are not hard to find. There are different types of Vitamin B. For example, Vitamin B2 helps in the absorption of iron in your body and Vitamin B3 improves the blood circulation of the scalp. Vitamin B5 helps to stop the aging of the hair and prevents hair loss. Vitamin B6 helps with metabolism and the breakdown and building of amino acids, which make up proteins. And then there is Vitamin B8. It keeps skin and hair healthy by releasing energy from food and playing a role in the formation of fatty acids. It is also called Biotin or Vitamin H. Finally, you have Vitamin B12. This ensures the production of red blood cells and ensures proper functioning of the nervous system. Reason enough to ensure enough Vitamin B.
Tip #9. Make sure you have enough Vitamin C and Zinc
Vitamin C works as an antioxidant. You need it for the formation of connective tissue, the absorption of iron and it ensures that your resistance level remains high. You can find Vitamin C in fruits, vegetables, potatoes and in cabbage. And then there is Zinc. Zinc is a mineral that ensures the building of proteins, the growth and renewal of tissue, metabolism and proper functioning of the immune system. Foods with Zinc are meat, cheese, grain products, nuts, shrimp and mussels. Keep in mind, however, that this is a small amount of Zinc.
